More than ten years after the introduction of the first automatic milk machine in the modern farming, is it now the turn to Schuitemaker. Schuitemaker presented her Innovado during shows in Hannover and Den Bosch. The Innovado is the first fully automatic feeding robot who picks up the food and brings it to the animals. An innovation in the branche!

Innovation
There are allready several variants of automatic feed systems. Schuitemaker took the time to produce a fully automatic solution. The manufacturers of Schuitemaker succeeded! Where current semi-automatic systems stops, goes the Innovado further.

Innovado
The Innovado is a self-driving mixing truck. It drives to the food, picks up the food, mix it, drive to the animals, feed them and went back to the garage. All without a driver! The route is determined by sensors, a gyroscope and a laser.

Safety
The sensors and lasers also provide the safety of the machine. A laser scans the environment on people, animals and objects that are near the machine. If this is the case, the machine stops immediately. Reliability and safety are the major concerns in the further development of the machine.

Technical innovation
The secret of the Innovado is the fully automatic feeding process. A boom is mounted on the machine. The boom includes a silage cutter, which can move left and right side through a shift. The food is unloaded above the mixing bowl. During the mixing process moves the Innovado with up to 6 km / h to the barn, using a diesel engine and a four-wheel hydrostatic drive.  

Benefits 
Times of automation and economies of scale in the modern dairy farming, gives the automation of the roughage supply an increasingly important place. It also has social benefits for the farmer (more time for family, leisure and entertainment).

Several studies demonstrated that dairy cows perform better when fresh forage is offered regualary. Frequent and regular supply of fresh forage has several advantages such as more calm in the barn and better health of the cow. 
                                                                 
Implementation
The system is ideally suited to grow with the farmer. The barn has not greatly to be adjusted. The Innovado can feed in several barns and is not limited to dairy cows. It can also feed young cows, for example. 

The farmer can open a new barn without major investments in the food system. Only changing the route and the program of the Innovado is enough.

Future
Several interested farmers went to Schuitemaker. Somewhere around the summer, the Innovado will be tested at a farm near the plant.
